After many years looking after and caring for young children I am now an Ofsted Registered Childminder in Rustington, Littlehampton. I am a member of the Professional association for childcare and early years (PACEY formerly NCMA).
In 1996 I started working in a Day Nursery as a Trainee Nursery Nurse caring for children aged 18 months to 3 years. During my time spent working at the nursery I completed my NVQ Level 2 and NVQ Level 3 in childcare and my Key Skills Level 2 Modern Apprenticeship. I also spent some time in the baby room and the pre-school room as part of my NVQ training. I became a Nursery Nurse whilst working towards my Level 3, working with my Nursery Nurse Room Leader to care for the 18 month to 3 year olds.
In 1999 I started working in my second nursery. I was a Nursery Nurse Room Leader, caring for children aged 10 months to 2 years. I went on to run the 2 to 3 year olds room and became 3rd in charge of the nursery, standing in for the Deputy and the Manager in their absence.
Between December 2001 and August 2006 I worked as a Daily Nanny, looking after children in their own home whilst their parents were at work. During my time as a Nanny I worked for 3 families caring for children aged between 5 months and 7 years.
I left my 3rd Nanny job when I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter who is now 8. I also now have a son who is 3.
Since this time I have run a successful childminding service in Rustington.
